The week will be a mixture of informal talks on Sicilian history and culture, trips to the Valley of the Temples and nearby places of interest, and the opportunity to enjoy wonderful local food together in convivial surroundings.

Giuseppe Taibi studied in Palermo, Brussels, the USA and Australia. He is a lawyer and cavaliere al merito della repubblica italiana,. Agrigento has always been his home and he has retained a passion and commitment for its landscape and heritage. For many years he has been a regional president of FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano- the Italian equivalent of the National Trust) in Sicily and is currently head of its Agrigento delegation. He has organised many successful projects to restore the Kolymbethra Garden and to preserve the Scala dei Turchi and its surroundings as an area of natural beauty. He is currently involved in the campaign to make Agrigento an Italian City of Culture in 2025.
Geoff Andrews is a writer and historian. He has written two books on Italy (‘Not a Normal Country’ and ‘The Slow Food Story’) as well as other books on British history, including most recently Agent Molière: The Life of John Cairncross, the Fifth Man of the Cambridge Spy Circle. In 2015 he founded Sicily Unlimited, which has the purpose of exploring Sicily’s rich history and culture through talks and study tours and to promote sustainable links with local people and associations.
